WHAT
Penny Nichols
California songwriter Penny Nichols is a multiple Grammy nominee. She is also the recipient of the “2015 Lifetime Achievement Award” from the FarWest Folk Alliance for her work as a singer, songwriter, vocal instructor and founder-director of SummerSongs, a non-profit organization which produces retreats and camps for songwriters on both coasts of the United States. She earned a Platinum record for her harmony work on Jimmy Bufffet’s “Son of a Son of a Sailer,” as well as a Grammy nomination for her harmony work on Arlo Guthrie’s album “The Power of Love.” In 2014 she released “Colors of the Sun” a collection of songs by one of her oldest friends, Jackson Brown. In 2015 she released “Golden State,” which is a collection of songs about her years growing up in Southern California.

Elaine Mahon
Gainesville, Florida native Elaine Mahon conjures up powerful visual imagery with her songs, and delivers them with a sweet, resonant voice capable of expressing a wide range of emotion. With alternate tunings and delicate fingerstyle guitar, she creates a rich harmonic palate that serves to enhance and embellish the beautiful melodies of her songs. An award winning songwriter, she has performed with The Boston Family Folk Chorale, Acoustic Eidolon, Pierce Pettis, Richard Gilewitz, The Gatorbone Band and Tracy Grammer.

Glen Roethel
California born, New York based award winning songwriter Glen Roethel has become a favorite teacher at SummerSongs songwriting camps, not only for his songwriting, accompaniment and ensemble classes, but also for leading all night jams of songs from the 60’s through the 80’s. He delights audiences with acoustic guitar wizardry, vocal fireworks and soothing melodic tones. His songs have been heard on nationally syndicated commercial, college and international radio, as well as on TV. As a corporate and private entertainer his performances and 5-star reviews earned him “Best of 2012” and “Best of 2013” at Gigmasters, a premiere online booking agency.
