Join Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) and the Florida Trail Association (FTA) for a Trail Accessibility Event showcasing trail accessibility programs and disability organizations in the community.
The event will feature two accessible trail devices, ACT's EcoRover chair and FTA's Joelette chair, which are now available for use in the North Central Florida community. Both devices will be available to take for trail rides at Prairie Creek Preserve. Registration secures a slot to ride but day of registrations will be accommodated as EcoRovers and Jolettes chairs become available. Registration for a time slot is HIGHLY encouraged.

Hammock Loop (30-45 minute loop on EcoRover)
This 0.65 mile loop trail winds through towering live oaks, hickories and cabbage palms through a shaded hammock that passes near a small pond, gopher tortoise burrows and a wide variety of plant species. The trail is flat with a few scattered roots. The trail surface is a combination of mowed grass, dirt, and leaf litter.

Native Plant Garden Loop (20-30 minute loop on EcoRover)
This loop leads through a short section under a hardwood hammock before coming out into the sun of Alachua Audubon Society's native plant garden. The garden is mowed grass with over a dozen planted beds featuring a large variety of native flowers, shrubs, and trees. Many of the plants have informational signage with photos.
