Dayna Buckley

ACT Fall 2024 Outreach Intern

Dayna is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Environmental Science. She loves being in nature, getting active, and promoting sustainability. Dayna is from Jacksonville, FL and has had an amazing time exploring Gainesville in her four years here. You can find her thrifting, playing sports, or spending time with her friends at the lake or park. While interning, she is excited to get more involved with the community and further develop her professional path.

Elizabeth Fernandez

ACT Fall 2024 Outreach Intern

Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Conservation and a minor in Sustainability Studies. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, baking, and playing board games. She has a love for nature and wants to make a career out of it. She looks forward to working with ACT this fall to learn more about the nonprofit and its work in the community.

Amber Barkevich

ACT Fall 2024 Environmental Education Intern

Amber is a recent University of Florida graduate, holding a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Geography. Through her time at UF, she has had strong interests in wetlands, weather, sustainability, and outreach, which led to her interest in education and ACT. Outside of ACT, she holds a job in customer service and enjoys painting, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Lauren Roop

ACT Fall 2024 Environmental Education Intern

Lauren is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in environmental science and minoring in geography, sustainability, and agricultural and natural resource law. She is passionate about conservation and sustainability, with a strong interest in preserving natural ecosystems and promoting environmental education. Lauren enjoys working hands-on in the field and aims to apply her knowledge to address ecological challenges. She plans to pursue a career in environmental law or conservation management to help protect natural resources for future generations.

Rachel Chazotte

ACT Fall 2024 Environmental Education Intern

Rachel is a third-year Environmental Science major at the University of Florida, driven by her lifelong passion for the outdoors. She is dedicated to exploring environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Through her experience with ACT, she aims to share her enthusiasm with local children while gaining valuable experience in outreach and education. After graduation, Rachel hopes to pursue a career that integrates both the natural and social aspects of environmental science, enabling her to create a meaningful impact on the planet.

Zadi Almond 

ACT Fall 2024 Environmental Education Intern

Zadi is a first-year master's student studying wildlife ecology and conservation at the University of Florida. Zadi loves spending time with animals and being outside and is very excited to continue teaching children in the CrEEK Program!
