Peyten Hernandez
ACT Spring 2024 Outreach Intern
Peyten is a senior at the University of Florida from Tampa, Florida. She is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies with minors in Event Management and Environmental Justice and Policy. She plans to attend graduate school next year to further study sustainability management. Outside of her studies and work with ACT, Peyten enjoys playing with her dog, reading, roller skating, and going on walks.
Lilah Durant
ACT Spring 2024 Outreach Intern
Lilah is an undergraduate at the University of Florida studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Outside of school, she enjoys knitting, hiking, and exploring Gainesville parks and restaurants. After graduation she hopes to work in the wildlife biology field and do her part in conserving the environment and all it has to offer.
Shruti Shivan
ACT Advocacy Intern Fall 2023-Spring 2024
Shruti is a second-year History and Sustainability Studies student at the University of Florida. She grew up in Tampa, and as a Florida native has always had a love for animals and the outdoors. While her path was not always straightforward, she is excited about pursuing a career in sustainability. In the future, she hopes to work in renewable energy and decarbonization as a consultant. At ACT, she is looking forward to further developing her knowledge base in the critical issues surrounding conservation and sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and fostering animals.
Valentina Padron-Rasines
ACT Marketing and Fundraising Intern Spring 2024
Valentina is a senior at the University of Florida, majoring in Sustainability Studies with minors in Environmental Justice and Policy, and Agricultural Natural Resource Ethics and Policy. With a keen interest in environmental law, justice, and policy, Valentina aspires to pursue a master’s degree post-graduation in this field. Originally from Miami, Florida, ACT has helped deepen her understanding of land trust organizations and their vital efforts in conserving our environment all around North Central Florida. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys spending her time thrifting, working out, and going to the beach.
