Fall 2023 Natural Resource Management Interns


Olivia Wulfekuhl

Olivia is a third year at UF majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Originally from Ormond Beach, FL, she enjoys hiking with her dog, reading, swimming, and birding. She hopes to one day see all of the National Parks! She is incredibly passionate about conservation issues regarding wildlife and hopes to use the skills she learned with ACT to implement conservation policies and techniques.


Preston Ballard

Preston is a Junior Wildlife Ecology and Conservation student at the University of Florida. Originally from Ocala, Florida, he has grown a passion for the conservation and continued protection of the many green spaces and wildlife within Florida. Preston is looking forward to this opportunity with ACT to grow his knowledge base and expand his skill set in the field of Land Management/Natural Resources. In his free time, Preston enjoys Wildlife Photography, hiking, and traveling!


Katya Kasprzak

Katya is a junior at University of Florida studying Natural Resource Conservation. Originally from Western Massachusetts, Katya had always lived in and been around nature and water, fostering their interest in it from a young age. They hope to go on to work in water management or conservation! In their free time, they enjoy creating abstract art, and listening to metal and noise.

 

Daniel Donahue

Daniel is a senior at UF majoring in natural resource conservation. Daniel is from Lakeland, FL and has always been passionate about caring for Florida's natural areas. He hopes to use his time at ACT to gain a better understanding of how to care for natural Florida. His hobbies include hiking, playing sports, and traveling.

 

Jesus Rodriguez-Riverol

Jesus is a senior at UF majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. He is from West Palm Beach, Florida and has been passionate about wildlife and conserving our natural resources since a young age. In his free time he enjoys hiking, photography, and playing basketball. He is excited to work with ACT to learn more about various land management practices and gain some valuable hands-on experience.

 

Lauren Waldrop

Lauren is a third-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and minoring in Entomology. Growing up in Florida, her passion for wildlife and conservation started at a young age while fostering animals. She is excited for the opportunity to gain more fieldwork skills and to experience different Florida ecosystems. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and hiking.

 

Sofia Gurruchaga

Sofia Gurruchaga is a 3rd year student at UF pursuing a bachelor's degree in Media Production, Management, & Technology with a minor in Statistics. They are looking to pursue a career as an Environmental Statistician/Analyst after getting their bachelor's degree. Sofia also looks forward to using their time with ACT to explore natural resource and plant identification skills in order to help be better equipped in future careers. Outside of ACT, they also work as a student assistant in an Ecophysiology lab that is affiliated with UF, and enjoy spending time with friends, creating art, and baking.

 

Kaitlin Fahey

Kaitlin Fahey is a third-year Natural Resource Conservation major with a minor in Environmental Science. She is from Clearwater, Florida, and grew up visiting National Parks all over the United States. She is planning to go to graduate school with an interest in ecology or forestry. She has been a lifelong Gator fan and has been a competitive swimmer for all of her life. She is super excited to intern for ACT this fall to get more field experience and expand her skills!
