Summer 2023 Natural Resource Management Interns
Olivia Wulfekuhl
Olivia is a third year at UF majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Originally from Ormond Beach, FL, she enjoys hiking with her dog, reading, swimming, and birding. She hopes to one day see all of the National Parks! She is incredibly passionate about conservation issues regarding wildlife and hopes to use the skills she learned with ACT to implement conservation policies and techniques.
Kiersten Dolecki
Kiersten is a Senior at UF majoring in Natural Resource Conservation. Originally from Virginia, she has always been passionate about conservation and is most interested in learning about hardwood removal. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and playing video games.
Ryan Kerrigan
Ryan is a recent graduate from UF with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology alongside minors in Sustainability Studies and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Ryan grew up near the Everglades in South Florida, which fostered his love for the natural world and its conservation. He is eager to work with ACT this summer and develop land management skills in invasive species removal and prescribed burning. In his free time, he enjoys painting, hiking, and playing video games.
Elizabeth Fernandez
Elizabeth is a fourth-year student at the University of Florida working towards a Bachelor’s in Natural Resource Conservation with a minor in Sustainability Studies. She has always loved nature and the outdoors and wants to make a career out of it. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets and playing board games.
Bella Guerrero
Annabella is a fourth-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Natural Science. She is from Miami, Florida and is interested in pursing a career as a wildlife and conservation biologist. She is grateful for this opportunity to expand upon her fieldwork skills and learn more about Florida ecosystems and invasive species ecology. In her free time she enjoys photography, rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding and visiting new state parks!
Ivan Landaeta
Ivan is a 3rd year Environmental Engineering Science major at UF. He is a Gainesville local and enjoys spending time outside doing things such as hikes, biking, and going to the springs. He hopes to learn more about ecosystem management practices and use my engineering degree to design projects to recreate and restore ecosystems like they did in the case of Sweetwater Wetlands.
Aleida Wells
Aleida Wells is a rising sophomore at UF pursuing a bachelor’s degree in wildlife ecology and conservation. She loves all things animals and hopes to follow a career combining global cultural and environmental issues in research and education. She looks forward to using her time with ACT to explore ecosystem and wildlife issues throughout Florida. Outside of ACT, she also works as an assistant in a nematology lab, and enjoys spending time with her cat, rowing with the UF team, painting, and traveling.
Jazz Griffis
Jazz is a 4th year Forest, Resources, and Conservation Major at UF. She has been a community member of Alachua County for the majority of my life and is excited for the opportunity to give back. She hopes to gain hands-on experience, as well as collaboration with fellow interns, members of ACT, and community members. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, working out, cooking, and illustrating.
