Alachua Conservation Trust to Host Young Leaders for Wild Florida and Creek Family Fest at Bubbe’s Secret Garden, September 21st, 2024.

September 11, 2024

Gainesville, Florida - Join ACT on September 21st for the Young Leaders for Wild Florida and Creek Family Fest! Start fall with a day of environmental education, arts & crafts, and free face painting. Bring the whole family for an outdoor adventure! Interact with local conservation organizations and explore the park in between activities.

Young Leaders for Wild Florida is a two-week immersive Summer camp program. It provides high school and early college aged-students opportunities to explore Florida, learn about conservation, and volunteer in the community. Participation in student-led projects allows them to discover their own potential and gain practical skills while interacting with peers.

"ACT's Creekside Environmental Ed for Kids Program has worked to provide fun, free environmental education field trips to schools since 2016. We're excited to host events open to the public to bring the same engaging learning to families and the community through the Family Fest!" says Keara Clancy CrEEK Program Coordinator.

The event is at Bubbe’s Secret Garden which can be found at1225 NW 4th St, Gainesville, FL 32601.
