Spend the weekend with ACT at Tuscawilla Preserve

Micanopy, Florida – Join ACT for a weekend at the Tuscawilla Prairie! The Tuscawilla Preserve includes a prairie and adjacent uplands with small creeks and mesic forests- a perfect place to host these events. Kick the weekend off on April 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at our Pancakes on the Prairie event, and keep the fun going on Sunday, April 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for our Morning Bug Walk at the Tuscawilla Preserve.
Pancakes on the Prairie is a pancake breakfast at the cabin on Tuscawilla Prairie. This event is free and open to the public - the only thing you need to bring is your appetite. Please consider donating to support ACT’s work to provide more conservation and maple syrup to our community. This event is first come, first serve. Pancakes and Opus coffee will be available while supplies last. Vegan options are available.

Our Morning Bug Walk at Tuscawilla Preserve will be a family-friendly bug ID event led by the University of Florida Forest Entomologist in the School of Forest Resources & Conservation resident, Dr. Jiri Hulcr and Dr. Andrea Lucky, an evolutionary biologist and biodiversity scientist in the Department of Entomology & Nematology at the University of Florida. Bring your own nets if possible, sun protection, water, and a sense of adventure.
